01 — The Cultural Opportunity

Designing for the "Emotion Economy"

Where Wu Xing meets olfactory psychology

Over 40% of Gen-Z consumers prioritise "emotional value" in their lifestyle choices, driving a surge in interest for both aromatherapy and spiritual divination.

WoodMe identified a unique synergy between the Chinese Five Elements (Wu Xing) and olfactory psychology — transforming the abstract concept of "luck" into a tangible, proactive ritual of self-care.

03 — The Phygital Ecosystem

Bridging Digital Insights with Physical Rituals

WoodMe is a holistic "Phygital" (Physical + Digital) service. The app acts as a personalised guide recommending the "Element of the Day," culminating in a fragrance ritual. By engaging the sense of smell — the only sense directly linked to the brain's emotional centre (the amygdala) — the product facilitates a deep meditative state digital-only solutions cannot achieve.

04 — Vision: Somatic Well-being

Design as a Medium for Healing

WoodMe represents my exploration of Somatic Design — respecting the body's intelligence and sensory capacity. Using traditional wisdom and modern UX to create "healing interfaces." Technology and system thinking not just to optimise tasks, but to enrich the human sensory experience and build emotional resilience.
